We at Destination Gardens are starting our 2014 CSA list. How would you or your family members like to receive a box of fresh vegetables every week this summer? Destination Gardens can make it happen. At our local farm, just 10 minutes east of Vegreville, we are working hard to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy local natural fruits and vegetables.
Buying a share in our CSA insures that from July - September your family will receive a box of fresh picked Vegetables every week.
Buy one for yourself and one for your friends or family members. CSA Memberships make a great Christmas gift that will keep on giving.
How does the CSA work?
Every week at our farm we pick and pack the freshest vegetables ready from our garden. Once the boxes are assembled, we will be set up at a location in Vegreville, where you can pick up your box.
Because we plant a large variety of fruit and vegetables, every week your box will contain different items. Along with recipes, we also offer extra items that can be added to your box such as flavored, raw, and creamed honey from Very Berry Honey in Tofield, as well as hemp mosquito and pain spray, and hand lotion from Hemp Hollow in Sherwood Park.
We offer 2 sizes of boxes:
Small Box - feeds 2-3 people - $300.00/12 weeks
Large Box - Feeds 4-6 People - $475.00/12 Weeks
Only 40 Baskets Available.
We also carry Beary Berry Honey and Hemp Hollow Products which are produced by local farmers.
Welcome to Destination Gardens!
We are a local farm just 5 minutes East of Vegreville AB. Offering a large selection of fruits and vegetables, which will be available starting at the beginning of July. As a local farm we strive to provide our communities and your families with healthy, chemical free produce.
Our farm was settled back in 1905 and has remained in the family, with the 5th generation moving back this summer to continue the legacy. We are dedicated to providing our customers with high quality, fresh, local produce grown in a sustainable, and for the most part organic method. The food we provide you is the same that we put on our table.
We are busy in the garden preparing for a busy summer growing local produce to provide you all summer long. Each month from July through October offers a different variety of fruits and vegetables, from peas in July to pumpkins in late September early October. We have all the veggies you would expect with peas, beans, cucumber, zucchini, squash, tomatoes (20 different varieties) and many others. In addition, we are going to try lots of new options to our garden veggies including Okra, Bok Choy, Eggplant, and Brussel Sprouts just to name a few, we are hopeful they will all turn out but know it may take a year or two to perfect these. If you have anything you want us to grow please let us know, we are always up for a challenge (please no lime trees, we are still in Alberta).
Throughout the summer we will be working hard to ensure that you can get all the produce and information about our farm that you can handle, from weekly picking updates, farmers market and market garden news, and even a few healthy recipes. You may even submit your own recipes for all of our Facebook and Twitter followers.
As always we at Destination Gardens would like to hear what you think. Please let us know how we are doing and how we may continue to bring you better service. We would be more than happy to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.
We are looking forward to a busy, and exciting summer, and we hope that you will follow along, hop on board and join the healthy eating revolution with us. As we continue to provide you with the essentials to help you along the way.
